CHR-68DT Toolroom Chucking Machine Adds Digital Threading
We have applied the Digital Threading technology from 618DT toolroom lathe to CHR-68 chucker.
The chucker is part of our toolroom lathe lineup. It comes with a 8-station indexing tool turret for quickly changing tools on complicated job setups. It also has 8-position carriage stop that can be setup to simplify multiple repetitive tool feeds.
Previously for threading operations chucker lathe relied on a separate threading attachment that was bulky and cumbersome. Now with CHR-68DT's Digital Threading capability, threading operations are microprocessor controlled and carried out by synchronized spindle speed and servo motor feed. All the operator needs to do is punch in desired thread pitch and thread direction then start the spindle rotation and carriage feed as normal using start/stop levers at the headstock. No gears to change. Less moving parts, easier maintenance.
Gang Tooling Now Available on CT-1118CNC Toolroom Lathe
There is now one more way to place cutting tools on the CT-1118CNC CNC Toolroom Lathe. Gang tooling makes it easier to setup jobs where multiple tool changes are necessary. It's suitable for higher volume production of the kind of high precision parts toolroom lathes are known for.
NEW: CT-1118CNC with gang tool plate. Cutting tools are secured into tool blocks which are bolted down to the T-slide on the tool plate.

Announcing: Mill Head Replacement Service
For the many, many Bridgeport and Bridgeport-type milling machine owners in the United States, what do you do when the milling head is totally shot and needs a bunch of replacement parts to repair?
One economical solution might be to just buy a new milling head from us. As a special service, we provide the same milling machine head as on our S-series mills to customers looking to save on repair costs. Do the math. Sometimes replacing the whole thing can save you both time and money. Best of all, it's guaranteed to work. You don't have to deal with the uncertainty of repairs.
Our milling machine head can be directly bolted on to milling machines that use Bridgeport's J-head and most other import milling machines. We can provide the instructions on how to install the new head. A crane or forklift is highly recommended as these heads are not light. Other than that, the job can be done in less than half an hour with a couple of regular handtools.

What is Digital Threading Control?
CTL-618DT toolroom lathe with Digital Threading Control replaces traditional threading gearbox with microprocessor-controlled, servo-driven leadscrew. In the past, when a machinst is faced with a workpiece that calls for thread pitch not supported on a conventional lathe, he has to locate and order a custom gear set and take the time to swap out the gears in the gearbox. This is not economically justifiable unless the volume is large enough. CTL-618DT toolroom lathe's design eliminates this time-consuming workaround. With the new digital threading system, the user's wishes with it comes to threading can be easily and immediately realized.
Simply type in the desired thread pitch on the numeric keypad on the touch screen LCD control panel and then start the threading cycle as on other conventional lathes. CTL-618DT's system would control and synchronize main spindle rotation and Z-axis feed rate to produce precise threading cycle for the given TPI or mm thread pitch.
Besides being able to cut thread pitches not previously available on manual lathes, noise and vibration during threading are also significantly reduced, because there are actually no more gears in the gearbox.
Since 618DT already has custom IC and a LCD panel to enable threading control, the next logical step is to integrate DRO functions into it for an all-in-one versatile machine. And 618DT has in-fact done that. DRO capabilities are built-in and come standard with no extra charge. 618DT features linear scales on X and Z-axis from Mitutoyo.
For people experienced with the super high precision and immediacy of EISEN's toolroom lathes, the 618DT adds another dimension of capabilities. It builds on the same foundation as 618EVS toolroom lathe. They are all ideal for super high precision lathe work on small parts (usually those that fit in 5C collets). The guaranteed circular accuracy is 50 millionth of an inch.
