These precision lathes comes with 3" spindle through hole for handle wide variety of workpieces. The machine base is made from one-piece premium Meehanite casting for maximum rigidity.

Ergonomics. Attention to Details

  • The gear handles on headstock are built with locking detents to prevent the handles from being knocked out of place accidentally or under heavy cutting conditions.
  • Repositioning of handles is done by pulling the spring-loaded handle back and then shifting. You will not find a lathe with more positive shifting lever.
  • Selection of gears at the gearbox is done by a gear seilection rotary-knob that results in less movement of the gears compare with the back-and-forth shifting lever. Less movement of the gears means less wear and greater accuracy.

Quality components to ensure high precision and long service life

  • The spindle support consists of 3 high precision bearings: 2 precision tapered roller bearings and one ball bearing. Using high quality machine tool-grade bearings ensures accuracy and rigidity.
  • For maximum stability and minimum distortion, the entire base of the machine is made out of one-piece casting. The casting undergoes the Meehanite process to ensure high tensile strength with excellent vibration dampening characteristics.
  • Bedways are induction hardened and precision ground for durability.
  • Headstock gears are made out of chrome-molybdenum alloy steel that have been hardened and precision ground for maximum wear resistance.

Convenient Operation

  • The universal gearbox design allows easy selection of inch and metric threading without changing individual gears outside the headstock. Simply turn the lever to the assigned position on the headstock.
  • The gapped bed design allows extra large workpiece to be chucked at the spindle when the gap is removed.
  • The lathe is equipped with a jog button on the headstock that allows small movement of the spindle to aid gear engagement.
  • One-shot lubrication system is installed in the apron to direct lubrication oil to all the sliding surfaces.
  • Cone clutch overload device in apron to ensure safety when operating.
  • High-capacity coolant system offers ample coolant output.
